H. Shaina Colover handles cases relating to personal injury, products liability, sexual abuse, entertainment law and business litigation. Ms. Colover practices law with her father, Ronald B. Schwartz, in Newport Beach and, over the last eight years, has handled significant cases against defendants across the U.S., including General Nutrition Centers (GNC), MTV and the Catholic Church. She has been admitted pro hac vice in New York Federal District Court, where she successfully handled a fraud/intellectual property matter on behalf of a noted artist, and has a published California appellate case, Flores v. Ms. Colover has fought hard for her clients and has recovered millions of dollars on their behalf, including recovering over $3.5 million dollars for a client in a sexual abuse matter, earning her selection in 2007 to Southern California Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” by Law and Politics Magazine, an honor bestowed upon only 2.5% of the Los Angeles/Orange County bar under the age of 40, as chosen by peers and the independent research of Law & Politics Magazine.
Ms. Colover earned her B.A. degree in theatre-acting from the University of California, San Diego in 1995, where she received the prestigious Stewart Award in acting. She furthered her theatrical training by studying Shakespeare and classical text at the British Academy of Dramatic Arts at Oxford University (England). She received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1998, where she served as Moot Court Case Counsel in the area of Products Liability and the Torts Teaching Assistant. While at law school, she was a certified law clerk (able to make court appearances and handle cases with attorney supervision) at the SF Public Defenders and Juvenile Public Defenders offices and instructed “Street Law” (a high school law course) at the SF Youth Guidance Center (juvenile hall).
